Manyex means “many exams” but is also a tribute to my preferred Football Club, Peñarol F.C., from Montevideo, Uruguay, since one of its nicknames is “manya”, which comes from the Italian “mangiare” (to eat) and was a nickname coined around 1915 as an insult (we cannot reproduce what was supposed to be eaten) but later adopted as a neutral nickname.
